Kingdom Boldness

Writer: Montene BryantMontene Bryant

Two weeks ago, I wrote about being bold. Recently, I discussed with some remarkable women on the book of Romans, specifically regarding our boldness for the gospel. We rated ourselves from 1 (not bold) to 10 (very bold). When asked, I realized that boldness doesn't require charisma or being an evangelist. Anyone filled with the Holy Spirit can be bold, even if they are introverted. When their beliefs in God are challenged, they will speak up with confidence.

Sometimes, a calm voice is enough. Think of Jesus on the Sea of Galilee; His disciples doubted their authority to calm the storm. Jesus simply spoke to the storm with confidence and authority. That is Kingdom Boldness: knowing the King and what He stands for. With this knowledge, you can boldly address any situation led by the Spirit. Do not compare your talents; instead, confidently proclaim God in your areas of influence.

I am truly grateful for a man who no longer walks the earth but now resides in heaven. His name is Myles Munroe. He was a bold advocate for the kingdom of God. In his book titled Rediscovering the Kingdom, he explains much about our authority and the importance of boldness.

Here are 11 principles from Chapter 8, "The Priority of the Kingdom":

1. The kingdom should be our highest priority; Jesus gave us no other commission.

2. Whatever we experience in the physical world has a corresponding reality in the spiritual world.

3. God sent Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, as the second Adam to undo the curse brought upon mankind by the first Adam.

4. Our Father is always working, and we should be working as well.

5. Only God can give life; since the Son of God is of the same essence as the Father, the Son can also give life.

6. Because He fulfilled His Father’s will perfectly and without sin, Jesus, the Son of Man, was qualified to judge humanity.

7. In Christ, we have authority on earth because we are human, just as He was.

8. If you are a believer, you are a saint, and as a saint, you are an heir to the kingdom of God.

9. Kingship is about protection, exercising authority, and reclaiming conquered territory.

10. God’s purpose is to restore the offices of king and priest into one.

11. The kingdom of God is all that matters; apart from the Kingdom of God, nothing else holds significance.

One principle He emphasizes is the Kingdom principle of Influence. Boldness should be used to spread the gospel of King Jesus. Every kingdom aims to make the King's influence and will felt throughout.

Jesus said, “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman mixed into flour until it worked all through the dough.” (Matthew 13:33) "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20)

I look at this as the garden and the kingdom of God is at hand!
