Matthew 14:27 “"But Jesus immediately said to them: 'Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.'"
Matthew 14:27 “"But Jesus immediately said to them: 'Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.'"

In today’s cultural environment, we have so many people who are all about truth. In truth, they believe they are either a coward or bold in their stance. I genuinely believe we have seen what was honorable at one time in our society and daily lives. This culture has not truly experienced the boldness of the gospel due to a watered-down version, or one is who just does not share the word of God in the full context of His word. I have been reminded, what my grandfather who was a World War 2 soldier. He had one purple heart, and many awards for his combat day.  I remember one time he said, “I do not like cowards.” Cowards do not stand for their beliefs but for their agendas. Even though he struggled with PTSD, which was not a thing back then. He showed me that standing for something matters. For a country that meant so much to him but also instilled a boldness that I had to acquire from the Holy Spirit.

We are in a day that God wants the church, which would be you, if you are a born-again believer in Jesus Christ to allow the Holy Spirit to empower you to stand boldly for the word even if it cost you something. You have a hope and future, but remember the hope and future is in accordance to the kingdom of God. Cowardness is according to the kingdom of darkness, which will lead you to not believe whole heartly of the promises of God.

1. “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”  Isaiah 41:10

2.“…For he has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So, we can confidently say, ’The Lord is my helper; I will  not fear; what can man do to me?’” Hebrews 13:5b-6

3.“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7

4.“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4

5. “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

6. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27

7. “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall, I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1

My grandfather could be a rough man, but he believed in Jesus. He could point out a fake person in a heartbeat. I thought he was judgmental, but he saw things that he just told the truth. I have realized more as I get older that truth is hard for so many because that means in truth they must change. Some rebel against the change because of fear (cowardness) but instead know that in the change of God’s truth, life is abundant.

As you start this week take a moment and ask the Lord do you have anything to coward to in fear when His word is life to us. What can man do to you vs. What can God do to you? That is something to ponder on.

Be of good courage and have the strength of faith that only Jesus can give you.

My God, my God, my God! What a right “Now” word from God our Father. Speak and say the Word of God. God confirms the Word of His servant. Be BOLD, Be Strong because the Lord our God is with us!!
